NAMASTE (National Action for Mechanized Sanitation Ecosystem) scheme includes provisions for Occupational Training aimed at equipping sanitation workers with the skills needed for safer and dignified employment.
Job roles:
1. Junior Technician - Mechanized Sewer Cleaning
- The Junior Technician Sewer Cleaner is an individual, who is responsible for operating mechanised equipment for sewer cleaning
- NSQF Level 3
- 40 hours training

2. Desludging Operator
- The Desludging Operator, also known as Sludge Emptier is an individual, who is responsible for emptying, transport and disposal of faecal sludge from the septic tank to desludging site/FSTP/Co-treatment plant
- NSQF Level 3

Implementation and Delivery
Training programs are to be delivered through training partners selected via RFP and in active collaboration with said Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).
