CSR Initiatives
1 NSKFDC under its CSR initiative is supporting Hasiru Dala for the Project “Up-gradation of Skills of Wastepickers and Informal Waste Collectors. This project aims to upgrade skills of Wastepickers, their leaders and activists to become entrepreneurs in waste sector and to organize Wastepickers for integration in solid waste management respectively.
The scope of work under the project includes following:
  • Business opportunities for wastepickers in door to door collection, processing and aggregation of both wet and dry waste
  • Training on organic waste management i.e. composting, biomethanization for  wastepicker leaders
  • Manual development on relevant themes
  • Exposure Visit to CIPET Guwahati/Puri to learn about opportunities in recycling industry
  • Three months fellowship programme for 2 activists or wastepickers leaders

Project Coverage
The project coverage of direct and indirect beneficiaries would be as under:
Direct Beneficiaries

  • 100 wastepicker leaders through two separate workshops each having participation of 50 wastepicker leaders
  • 2 Activists/wastepicker leaders through 3 month fellowship programme
  • 60 wastepicker/their representatives through exposure trip to CIPET

Indirect Beneficiaries:

  • 2500 wastepickers who will be trained by the 100 wastepicker leader
  • 500 wastepickers to be organized by 2 fellows under fellowship programme
2 In an unfortunate incident that had caused the demise of two brothers Mohd. Jahangir and Mohd. Ezaz Alam during cleaning of Septic tank at Anand Vihar (Delhi) on 12.08.17 , leaving behind their family with old age parents & small children in immense trauma.

Immediate Voluntary assistance of Rs. 50,000/- was provided by NSKFDC on 28.08.17 to Shri Mohd. Yusuf (father of both victims) under CSR activities of the corporation to support his family who were going through financial crisis due to demise of both his sons.
